Ayurveda is the time-tested Indian system of medicine. In Sanskrit, the word Ayurveda comprises the words āyus, meaning 'life' and veda, meaning 'science'.

Ayurvedic practitioners have identified a number of medicinal preparations and surgical procedures for curing various ailments and diseases.

This department has a Panchakarma Unit (seen on photo), a specialised unit to deal with various chronic ailment and diseases. Dr Raghavendra Udupa heads this department.

The Physiotherapy Unit is headed by an experienced and well-qualified doctor who is assisted by a trained physiotherapist and offers treatment for a variety of acute and chronic cases pertaining to orthopaedics, neurology, surgery and paediatrics.
